Sphere of Light: Now Over 70,000 WORDS!

70,000 word count REACHED!
70,000 word count REACHED!

I am beginning to discover that editing is perhaps the hardest part of writing a book. The story is also looking more like a story. For that, I wouldn’t have to feel too embarrassed with my writing. The most awesome thing actually is reaching 70,000 words in the manuscript! That’s over four to five thousand words from its first completion!

Now on to Verse 14 out of 29 😀

New Character Added!

Maryam and Baby Yscariot in GA19. Art by Gladys Betiles July 2016
Maryam and Baby Yscariot in GA19. Art by Gladys Betiles July 2016

In appreciation for all that my mother, and grandmother especially, has done for me and my family, I dedicate this art, illustrated by fellow team member and artist, Gladys Betiles, to my mother. You can also spread the love, too! Whether it’s your mother’s birthday, Mother’s Day, or any day… send this image to your mother, or simply give her a hug.

I thank my mother for her support of my story! It is a long process, but I am getting there! To see the biography of Yscariot’s mother, Maryam, simply click here or visit the character glossary!

4090+ Zeta Preview Website Downloads!

Advertising the biggest preview to Yscariot: Sphere of Light was kind of slow with the big move to another city last year and the push to have the novel completed in early 2016. Other things like travel and writing breaks also prevented me from advertising. However, an attempt to advertise occurred for a 2-day only period, and about 1000 more downloads for the “Zeta Preview” of Yscariot™ were recorded through the website alone!

A major thank you to the people who took the time to visit the site and make 19/30 chapters a part of their digital library! If you haven’t yet done so, visit the DOWNLOADS page to get a free preview today!

Return from a Season Hiatus

Very little activity was done during the Winter and Spring  seasons in terms of editing. With several changes happening in Korea, returning to the USA to visit family and friends, and recharging that motivation to get back into writing, it was only a matter of time that I would get back to the story.

While on that break, I was able to come up with ways to strengthen my story and a new idea for another story was born! I will reveal it sometime soon as it was only conceived while on a trip to Shenyang-Beijing (China). To add, I was accepted into Shanghai University’s Master’s Program. Yes, I need a break from traditional work so that I can focus more on myself and my own personal goals. Yscariot being one of them.

Here is an update on Yscariot™: Sphere of Light (novel manuscript):
Rough Draft
Courier New, 12pt, Double Spaced
311 Pages (17 edited)
65181 words
30+ Promises to buy (though I haven’t campaigned much, I hope others will bring more people in).

In order to make a promise to contribute, please send a message directly to my (the author) E-mail address. Details of the book and promotion are as follows:

  • $25 donation per book.
  • Immortalized names as contributor to Team X’el‘s Hall of Heroes.
  • Complete original story include with improved full-text format.
  • Contributors will be credited in the book.
  • $50 donation per book will include a special item.
  • (more info to come)

Please note: There will NOT be a “Kickstarter” or other funding site available for the time being (I no longer have an American checking account, nor can I afford to pay any extra fees for the sake of shipping and handling).

Looking back…

Recently, I have told several followers in my audience, via X’elCast, of the history of creating this story, but never in full detail had I discussed exactly what was “behind the scenes”.

I am thinking about posting a video [in the near and coming future] detailing the songs and situations in which I have written several happenings of my book. It is a story with action sequence, so I feel that I would talk more about what songs influence the making of my story from its earliest inscription to the present time.

I am just wondering if anyone would be interested in seeing such a video? I mean, I wouldn’t want to waste any time speaking only to myself about it. I hope to know…

3234 Zeta Downloads!!!

Such an awesome Christmas gift for us by you, the readers and supporters of this story! Again, happy holidays to all of our supporters!

From April 28th (this year) to December 11th, I had only 995 downloads for the Zeta, and it was pretty slow due to moving, traveling, and not really campaigning much, since I figured most readers were likely reading the Continue reading 3234 Zeta Downloads!!!

Winter Special by Gladys Betiles
Yscariot’s Winter Special (2015) by Gladys Betiles

No matter what you celebrate, or what lifestyle you practice, X’el Studios would like to take this time in wishing everyone in the world the very best this season. Every day should be about family and friends, but it’s the coldest season that usually bring the warmest memories.

For Gamers: Japanese PSO2 Winter Contest ($20 Value)

Although most holidays were abolished in the world of Yscariot™, the main story characters in the upcoming novel, Yscariot: Sphere of Light (as shown here) still enjoy winter time. Ironically, it’s having superpowers that generally keep them warm… Funny right?
