Story Setting for “The Gospel…”

My story known as The Gospel of Yscariot takes place on an alternate Earth located in a universe parallel to the one we live in today. Nineteen years before Yscariot was introduced into the story, the world had ushered in the birth of a new area known as the “Year of Global Alliance”. Although physical war have officially ceased between world nations, a new form of takeover began. Government and Corporate forces have fully merged to help bring peace amongst people. The public is no longer armed, the world speaks a single language, and one currency have been announced as the primary source for income. Over time, civil unrest occurred but led to quick suppression as people all over the world began living in their own shadows. Soon, people all over the world came to terms with their future as violence moved to corporate and government sects. Years are marked by G.A. (Global Alliance) as previous years are marked as B.G.A. (for Before G.A.) as the main protagonist Yscariot is born in 19 G.A.

The significance of Earth in this story is that I have decided that I create a planet separate from our own. This way I can avoid having to keeping locations “true to life”. Some places use a variation of real-world names and syllables to create locations. The inspiration ranges from ancient and modern-day locations to create new places in the world: Continents for example, would be Mesoa, Shenguo, and Eygea. Nations in Mesoa would be Urdea and Nuevo Rey. Shenguo would have nations such as Yamato and Aodai. Eygea would be united as a nation. The exact location that the story takes place is in Nazares, Urdea and the story opens in Yamato. You’ll see that in Urdea, the main cast would be born or have emigrated from their countries to be in Urdea. More places will be revealed, but were insignificant to create in the making of my story.

When the story begins (as you may have seen screens of my first few pages), a ray of light strikes Earth leaving a man surrounded by a white aura of energy collected around him. He is carrying a source of power known as the “Sphere of Light”. After striking the Earth, a single excavations specialist is on duty during a holiday when she found him. It was 14 B.G.A. when Quan, the man in the “falling star” hits Earth and 33 years later, Yscariot is born. At 15-years-old, Yscariot is on tour in Yamato when the story beings.

Yscariot is a teenage high school student who eventually acquires an overwhelming superpower. One of the biggest problems Yscariot will face is that Quan came to Earth with a bounty against him and that he is an inexperienced fighter even as the “Inheritor”. As a student, he originally dealt with bullying and isolation in school with very few friends to count on. As he grew in power, he tries his hardest to maintain his humbleness as he is noticed by fellow schoolmates for his defiance against his bullies. His ability to adapt into fighting comes with being in a school that thrives on excellence in martial arts, as he is a spectator for a friend in the league.

I hope this entry helps you understand the world Yscariot lives in. The good thing about my six-chapter story, is that there are side-stories to accompany the Gospel known as “Chronicles”. These stories can happen anywhere on Earth, or in the Universe and may tie characters from other stories I have in store with Yscariot’s world.

Thanks for reading!
